Freetown, December 16, 2016 — Four armed men dressed in military camouflage attacked the residence of Alie Badara Sanjan Kabba and gained entrance into the compound by jumping over the back fence around 3am local time.

On failing to force open the fortified back door into the house, one of the attackers was overheard suggesting that they should “fire into the door”.

The unarmed in-house security immediately activated their standing security measures rehearsed for such eventualities, which succeeded in distracting the assailants as they proceeded to destroy property in the compound.

The matter is now in the hands of the Sierra Leone Police who have a station just a few hundred meters from the  residence, but took over five hours to respond to the distressed call about an armed attack on a private residence.

We condemn in the strongest possible terms this dastardly act designed to violate and vandalise the sanctity and security of the residence of our leader. We view it as a doomed attempt to intimidate and dissuade!

We want to assure all our supporters and the general public that our resolve to pursue what is right and just, through democratic means, remains solid and unwavering.

We want to impress on the APC government that the safety and security of every citizen is a fundamental statutory responsibility that they cannot escape from and should not undermine.

We strongly hope that the police will move fast to get to the bottom of this alarming development laden with potential ugly ramifications.

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

One Country, One People!

Everyone in, No one out!

Everyone up, No one down!
